DxOMark has released its latest camera evaluation, placing the Vivo X300 Pro among the world’s best camera smartphones. The flagship model overall has captured the second place, with only Huawei’s Pura 80 Ultra ahead of it in the global leaderboard.

This remarkable performance elevates the Vivo X300 Pro over several high-end rivals such as Oppo Find X8 Ultra and Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro. Vivo has received the highest score in DxOMark ratings for its phone and that too for the first time. By getting this rating it has left behind the Vivo X200 Ultra which earlier was among the top five.

Vivo X300 Pro has been given 171 points for still imaging. This is a little less than the X200 Ultra's score in still imaging but the new model is making a tremendous advance in video quality. The phone has been given 169 points for video by the DxOMark making it the third-best mobile videography device overall.

It should be noted that the Vivo X300 Pro is now the best android phone that has been tested for video recording quality, with only the iPhone 17 Pro scoring higher. Thus, the Vivo’s flagship phone is considered to be one of the strongest non-Apple choices in the mobile videography segment.

DxOMark remarks that X300 Pro has the advantages of telephoto pictures, zoom capabilities, bokeh effects, and low-light photography. A series of factors such as stability of exposure, wide dynamic range, accurate white balance, natural skin tones, and superb video stabilization were cited by the review as being very effective in most scenarios.

There are no devices that are completely free of drawbacks, though. One of the issues highlighted by DxOmark is that the contrast in some HDR scenes is not very stable; to add to this, the wide-angle lens has a limited capacity and sometimes produces defects like ghosting and color fringing. Moreover, in low light, night shots might look slightly over-processed, and the darkest skin tones could occasionally be made to appear lighter than they really are.

The Vivo X300 Pro, despite having some minor flaws, overall provides a fantastic camera experience, with the worst part being the video quality. If we take 2025 as the end date, it looks like Vivo is gradually scoring high with the high-end camera phones that are the top choice in the market sector.
